You guys know how much I love a good liquid lipstick! I'm pretty sure of the 10 million lipsticks I own, 50% are liquid! I love how they last all day and are super pigmented. That said, liquid lipsticks definitely can be intimidating and drying on your lips. Here's a super quick tutorial of me sharing some tips of applying liquid lipstick as I was getting ready for a wedding!
- Line your lips with a lip liner - by starting out with a lip liner, you can control the shape of the lipstick much easier than you can with a liquid lipstick. Basically, it reduces the chances of messiness.
- Fill in lips with the liquid lipstick - for beginners, I recommend dabbing it on rather than swiping it on as I did just to get the hang of it.
- Add a lip gloss for moisture - okay, so this is key because I feel like the biggest complaint is lips drying out when using liquid lipsticks. I like to exfoliate & moisturize with a Chapstick before using a liquid lipstick even just to ensure there isn't any flaking and recommend that you guys do as well! Beyond that, using a gloss after the liquid lipstick is applied wears well for those who want the lasting impact of a liquid lipstick but don't love the super matte lip look. I usually keep it matte, but for the occasion of the wedding I was heading to, I loved how the shimmery gloss on top added to my overall glowy makeup look.
